Celebrating 70 Years of Dedicated Service to the Community
Est. 1939

The Lakeland Emergency Squad proudly serves Andover Borough, Andover Township, and Byram Township. The Emergency Squad currently operates 4 Ambulances, 1 First Response Unit, and 1 Rescue Truck out of 3 buildings. The Andover Building is located at the intersection of Goodale Road and Route 206. This building houses 2 Ambulances and the First Response Unit. The Byram Building is located on Route 206 just South of Cranberry Lake and houses 2 Ambulances and the Rescue Truck. The Lee Hill Sub-Station is located on Lee Hill Road in Byram Township; the Squad normally houses 1 Ambulance at this building and shares space with the Byram Township Police and Fire Departments. The ambulance stationed at Lee Hill is currently out of service as we await our new rigs. Our first due coverage area is over 50 square miles of southern Sussex County.

The Squad responds to a wide range of incidents including medical emergencies, fire calls, and motor vehicle accidents and also provides standby support to local youth sporting events, mountain biking competitions, and events at Waterloo Village. Residents of Andover Boro, Andover Township, and Byram Township are welcome to volunteer with the Emergency Squad, and have several membership options to choose from.

Lakeland Emergency Squad is currently seeking members; membership options include EMT, driver only, and rescue. Individuals who would like to become EMTs are required to attend a certified EMT Basic Course. Those who choose to join as driver only will be trained in CPR and Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO). Individuals who choose to join as Rescue will attend a Heavy Rescue Technician course at the Bergen County EMS Academy. You can learn more about each type of membership by contacting the Squad.
