The Lakeland Emergency Squad proudly serves Andover Boro, Andover Township, and Byram Township. The Emergency Squad operates 5 Ambulances, 1 First Response Unit and 1 Rescue Truck out of 3 buildings. The Andover Building is located on Goodale Rd. and 206. This building houses 2 Ambulances and a First Response vehicle. The Byram Building is located on Rt. 206 and houses 2 Ambulances and a Rescue Truck. The Lee Hill building is located on Lee Hill Rd. in Byram Township, the Squad houses 1 Ambulance at this building and shares space with the Byram Township Police and Fire Departments.
The Lakeland Emergency Squad responds to a wide range of incidents including but not limited to medical emergencies, fire calls, and car accidents. The Emergency Squad also provides standby support to local youth sporting events, local mountain biking competitions, and events at Waterloo Village. Residents of Andover Boro, Andover Township, and Byram Township are welcome to volunteer with the Emergency Squad, and have several member options to choose from.
The Emergency Squad is currently seeking members for Driver, Rescue, and EMT. Individuals who choose to join as driver only will be trained in CPR and Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO). Individuals who choose to join as Rescue will attend an 80 hr. Heavy Rescue Technician course at the Bergen County EMS Academy. Individuals who would like to become EMT’s, are required to attend a certified EMT Basic Course. You can learn more about each type of membership by clicking on the corresponding links.
